GrowthAid launches a new Project in Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region

GrowthAid launched the WASH4HEALTH Project in Sekyere East District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The project inception meeting was held on the 16th of November 2022 at the District Health Directorate. Stakeholders from Ghana Health Service, Ghana Education Service, District Assembly and other partners graced the occasion.

The Project dubbed Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Health (WASH4Health) and funded by the Latter-Day Sant Charities (Australia) is a one-year project which started in November 2022 and ends in October 2023.

WASH4HEALTH project is GrowthAid’s first of its kind to be implemented in Ashanti Region.  The beneficiary communities, healthcare facilities and Schools will be provided with safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene as our contribution towards the prevention and management of NTDs in the district. As part of the WAHS4HEALTH project, GrowthAid will also provide WASH services to the people of Lower and Upper Manya Krobo and Yilo Krobo districts. It will also provide Institutional WASH facilities in these districts.

To facilitate project monitoring and accountability, Project Management Teams (PMTs) have been established in all participating districts.

GrowthAid is a not-for-profit, NGO and non-political organization that provides WASH services and contributes to prevention and elimination of NTDs. We are a member of the Global Network of NGOs in Neglected Tropical Diseases (NNN), National Association of NGOs in Health, the End Water Poverty Network (EWP) and Networks in the WASH and NTDs space. Our programmes focus on WASH and Health, modelling sustainable WASH systems, strengthening local-level response for NTDs, community integration of recovered persons, policy advocacy and knowledge management
