GROWTHAID LAUNHES WASH4HEALTH PROJECT IN ATIWA WEST DISTRICT IN THE EASTERN REGION OF GHANA

GrowthAid LBG launched its Peri-Urban WASH4Health II Project funded by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Atiwa West District on 10th November 2023. The project inception meeting was held at the Assembly Hall of Atiwa West District to formally introduce GrowthAid LBG to the District Assembly, District Health Directorate, the local authorities and all the relevant stakeholders as well as the purpose of the project in the district. The one-year project is designed to provide 2 model piped peri-urban water systems in 2 communities and safe water education in 9 communities in the Atiwa West district in Eastern Region of Ghana. Overall, 33,100 inhabitants in the district will benefit from the project. The Ag Country Director of GrowthAid Ghana, Mr. Fred Yaw Ohene reiterated the role of the duty bearers in the district to provide the people of Atiwa West District with Water. However, knowing the financial challenges faced by the district, GrowthAid, in partnership with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has come to meet the WASH needs of the people in the district.
