NEGLECTED TROPICAL DISEASES

We believe that the provision of safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene is critical for the prevention and management of NTDs. Populations living in poverty, without adequate sanitation and water, and are in close contact with infectious vectors are those worse affected. At all levels, we work to ensure collaboration between the WASH and Health sectors, and that WASH investments are tailored towards supporting the prevention of NTDs in endemic areas.

In our intervention communities, we engage community members, household heads, chiefs and other community leaders on how they can prevent infections or identify and report outbreaks when they occur. In collaboration with Ghana Health Service, we support treatment programmes for existing cases.
