Through creative partnerships, we conduct stand-alone research, undertake modelling and operations research, document learning and take advantage of local, national, and global platforms to disseminate our learning around WASH and Health.

Modelling the construction and operation of community-led iron removal plants in rural areas

With funding from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Charities, we are modelling and learning on how communities can take charge of their water situation by building and operating their own iron removal plants. As opposed to other plants built and delivered to communities alongside the boreholes as one package, these are initiated by the communities themselves, built and operated by their own “engineers”.  with technical support from GrowthAid. In this way, true ownership is established, and the systems operate optimally over a longer time.
