GrowthAid is an NGO which focuses on delivering sustainable WASH services and the prevention and management of NTDs. GrowthAid on Wednesday, 9th September 2020 signed a contract with the Latter-Days Saints Charities (LDSC) to provide water facilities to deprived communities in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Yilo Krobo Municipality and Upper Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The project named Sustainable Water Sanitation and Hygiene (sWASH 2) is an extension of an earlier project (sWASH 1) which provided safe water and sanitation facilities to over 6500 people in deprived communities in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality. This project, sWASH 2, will cover 15 communities from 3 Municipalities: Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Yilo Krobo Municipality and Upper Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region of Ghana. An estimated population of 18,600 people are expected to benefit from the project with sustainable, safely managed water, improved sanitation, and hygiene services.
The contract was signed at the conference hall of the Latte- Days Saints Charities (LDSC). Dr. Joe Lambongang signed on behalf of GrowthAid whiles Mr. Daniel Yirenya-Tawiah signed for the donor’s, Latter-Day Saints Charities (LDSC). Dr Lambongang expressed gratitude to Latter-Day Saints for their continued partnership and promised to deliver quality work in line with national, international and organizational standards.
